LITTLE NOTES: STABLE SHIPS AND FAST HORSES.

I've been writing my CA (continuous assessment) test 2 for the past two weeks and since everything is online,  the thought of calling on good old uncle Google was crossing my mind frequently. At first I stood firmly on the fact that I'm a Christian and cheating is wrong.  But as the tests kept coming and coming , each harder than the previous one, I was ready to compromise just this once, after all every one is doing it and the lecturers know it too!
So I tried cheating. I happen to own two phones ,so why not ? Who would know anyways. I even had the guts to pray to God to forgive me for cheating... which I planned to do on purpose.
So as I had planned,  the next day I got my other phone  to cheat that was pathology I remember. The moment the paper started I switched on my other phone and the weirdest thing happened,  my phone that was on about 40% , started draining really fast to 0 , until it went completely off.  I was not only shocked but now stranded , I didn't study the things in the paper they looked foreign and I felt doomed. I thought no one was watching. But God was watching. I felt like God was punishing me for compromising.  Like " you wanted to cheat? Let's see how you'll cheat now!"
After that I repented  the next day and asked God to forgive me and I opened my bible during my usual morning devotion. (I've been studying the book of Isaiah  this month and the experience has been very life changing!) And I came across this verse in Isaiah 30: 15,16 (ETV) :

[15]The Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, says, “If you come back to me you will be saved. Only by remaining calm and trusting in me can you be strong.”
But you don’t want to do that.
[16]You say, “No, we need fast horses for battle.” That is true—you will need fast horses, but only to run away because your enemy will be faster than your horses.

What a wonderful bible verse ! And I found it (or it found me ) at the perfect time!  The shame that filled was enormous! God was telling Taizya come to me because  ,
"Because..... Anyone who trusts in that rock will not be disappointed." (Isaiah 28:16) . I felt like God was telling me I can give you peace in this hostile exam environment just trust me.  But I said no God
 "I NEED FAST HORSES ......."

Or in this case fast search engines, but nevertheless, I thought of the statement and added a twist of my own. I thought of Peter in the storm and paul on that boat that was involved in a ship wreck. And the thought came ......

WE NEED FAST HORSES AND STABLE  SHIPS .....

Have you ever seen a fast ship? When I think of ships , I think of the titanic.

THE TITANIC AS IT SANK ON MAY 7, 1912.
The Titanic was a luxury British steamship that sank in the early hours of April 15, 1912 after striking an iceberg, leading to the deaths of more than 1,500 passengers and crew.
The Titanic was the product of intense competition among rival shipping lines in the first half of the 20th century. In particular, the White Star Line found itself in a battle for steamship primacy with Cunard, a venerable British firm with two standout ships that ranked among the most sophisticated and luxurious of their ttime. Not only was the titanic fast but it was also very luxurious.

Cunard’s Mauretania began service in 1907 and quickly set a speed record for the fastest average speed during a transatlantic crossing (23.69 knots or 27.26 mph), a title that it held for 22 years.

On May 31, 1911, Titanic’s immense hull–the largest movable manmade object in the world at the time–made its way down the slipways and into the River Lagan in Belfast. More than 100,000 people attended the launching, which took just over a minute and went off without a hitch.
They called it the , "Unsinkable Titanic" , but it later proved them wrong when it sunk in 1912 .
Experts have guestimated , that actually those who where in the first class had a 44% likelihood of surviving the titanic than those in second class.  And that the titanic was very flawed.
Paul, having been falsely accused and imprisoned, was transported by ship to Rome under military escort.  Heavy storms blew the ship off course and caused it to break up near the island of Malta.
God’s protection meant Paul finally arrived in Rome having survived both a storm, a shipwreck and a snake bite.

And then when I think of sinking ships and shipwrecks,  I think of Paul in Malta in the raging storm , I think of a terrified Peter , sinking in water.  Then I see a jesus who calms every storm  and a hand to pull Peter out of the water and bring him to safety on the feet that never sink. When I think of the safest ship any sailor of life's deep unpredictable sea  can be on , When I think of the best Horse any horseman can ride on life's bumpy road , I think of Jesus.

We don't need fast horses or steady ships . We need JESUS!
This life we have found ourselves in will always have STORMS, big terrifying storms and they'll never be horses fast enough to out run the troubles of life, but we have a God who is not indifferent to our troubles.  Cast all your cares on him because he sees you and only he can give you the peace,  you deserve.

If we would but fully believe this, all undue anxieties would be dismissed. Our lives would not be so filled with disappointment as now; for everything, whether great or small, would be left in the hands of God, who is not perplexed by the multiplicity of cares, or overwhelmed by their weight. We should then enjoy a rest of soul to which many have long been strangers.

Through nature and revelation, through His providence, and by the influence of His Spirit, God speaks to us. But these are not enough; we need also to pour out our hearts to Him. In order to have spiritual life and energy, we must have actual relationship with our heavenly Father. Our minds may be drawn out toward Him; we may meditate upon His works, His mercies, His blessings; but this is not, in the fullest sense, communing with Him. In order to commune with God, we must have something to say to Him concerning our actual life.
Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend. Not that it is necessary in order to make known to God what we are, but in order to enable us to receive Him. Prayer does not bring God down to us, but brings us up to Him.

Prevailing prayer takes the Christian to Carmel, and enables him to cover heaven with clouds of blessing, and earth with floods of mercy. Prevailing prayer bears the Christian aloft to Pisgah, and shows him the inheritance reserved; it elevates us to Tabor and transfigures us, till in the likeness of his Lord, as he is, so are we also in this world. If you would reach to something higher than ordinary grovelling experience, look to the Rock that is higher than you, and gaze with the eye of faith through the window of importunate prayer. When you open the window on your side, it will not be bolted on the other.

LITTLE NOTES FROM HEAVEN: BE THE LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS!

There is a story told about Holmes and watson that always cracks me up. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson go on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend. "Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see." "I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes" replies Watson. "And what do you deduce from that?" Watson ponders for a minute. "Well, Astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three. Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful, and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe." But what does it tell you, Holmes?" Holmes is silent for a moment. "W

LITTLE NOTES: IS BETTING A SIN ?

We have all heard about betting as a form of gambling , some of us even use it to make some quick cash. While betting can be rewarding if you're lucky , for most people it can turn into a life long addiction, if not handled properly. Problem betting is harmful to psychological and physical health. People who live with this addiction may experience depression, migraine, distress, intestinal disorders, and other anxiety-related problems. As with other addictions, the consequences of betting can lead to feelings of despondency and helplessness. But hey , don't listen to me, what does the bible say about betting? I recently came across this verse in the bible, that talks about the gods of luck and fate , "Isaiah 65:11 (ERV) [11]“But you people left the Lord, so you will be punished. You forgot about my holy mountain. You began to worship Luck( babylonian god ,Gad ) . You held feasts for the false god, Fate ( babylonian god , Meni) ." I was like god of luck an
